The new Warsaw West interchange replaces a fragmented mid-century station with a unified transport hub linking intercity rail, metro, tram and bus networks under a single dramatic roof. The structure is defined by a series of laminated timber arches spanning 64 metres across all six platforms, their warmth deliberately chosen to counteract the institutional coldness traditionally associated with transit infrastructure.

Natural light filters through a continuous skylight running the full length of the concourse, eliminating the need for artificial illumination during daylight hours and creating a quality of space closer to a public garden than a waiting hall. Passenger flows were modelled using real-time data from the existing station, resulting in a level-free concourse that routes commuters, intercity travellers and cyclists without conflic
